Early Planning, 2024 Convention Dates

At the State Committee meeting, we set the dates for the precinct caucuses, and the county and district conventions for 2024. Next year will be a very busy year with the presidential preference primary and Easter in March. Since at the district conventions and state convention we will be electing delegates and alternates to the National Convention in Milwaukee, we have additional constraints imposed by the national party rules. To meet those many requirements the following dates have been set:

February 24th, 2024 – over 80,000 county precinct caucuses.
March 23rd, 2024 – under 80,000 county precinct caucuses and county conventions
April 20th, 2024 – district conventions

In past years the dates for the convention cycle have not been released until late in the year. This year a number of counties and districts had difficulty obtaining locations for their conventions, so we have gone ahead and set these dates so that there will be sufficient time to arrange for caucuses and conventions. We have not yet set the date for the state convention but it should be occurring in May of next year.

Meeting Schedule

The Elbert County Republican Party will meet Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 6:30 PM at McIntosh Coffee Shoppe for our monthly meeting. Light refreshments will be provided.

Guest Speakers will include local candidates seeking Nonpartisan offices for election/re-election in the May 21, 2024, General Primary Election.

Matt Easom, Candidate for Solicitor General (R)

This year, the Elbert County Republican Party will join our neighboring counties by participating and co-sponsoring an event, Northeast Ga Election Year - Chili Cook-Off on March 2nd. May 17-18, 2024 - State Convention (Dalton, GA)

May 21, 2024 - General Primary Election

November 5, 2024 - General Election
